„So initially I used to do pottery in our cellar between snowboards and suitcases.” – Chantal Brogini
What‘s your name and where do you consider home?
My name is Chanal Brogini and I‘m from Biel, Switzerland.
What made you start doing pottery?
A dear friend took me to a small ceramic studio in Basel and I immediately loved having my hands in clay. So I bought a potter's wheel, attended several courses and started to potter in my basement between snowboards and suitcases.
How did you come up with your brand name?
After my studies, I lived in Zurich in a shared flat. Due to the lack of space, I needed to put my wheel in our basement. My flatmate and good friend Julia then started to asked me: "Are you going to the Studio à La Cave again? – what means "Studio at the basement" in french. Once I gave Julia a short introduction on the wheel, recorded a video and uploaded it to Instagram for fun. This is how Studio à La Cave was born.
